The 8 Ohms Band is an up and coming independent unsigned band. We describe our sound as horn heavy funk/soul, but we mix in R&B and Go-Go for good measure. We play throughout the MD, VA, DC, DE and WVA area.
Our debut CD "Superheavy " was self-funded and has radio play and sales in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and the U.S.

The band has played with many national acts such as Chuck Brown, Nikka Costa, Big & Rich, Orgone, G. Love and Special Sauce, and KIX. We have also shared the stage with numerous local bands including Sweet Leda, Higher Hands, Chopteeth, Jah Works, All Mighty Senators, Grilled Lincolns, Lucky Dub, 9 Mile Roots, Freedom Enterprise, The Players Band, Shook, The Beast, Elikeh, Pressing Strings, Nayas, The Rovers, Dave Tieff Band, Bumpin' Uglies, Forquarters Collective, Evokatones, and DJ Selah.
