The 8 Ohms are an up and coming independent unsigned band.  We decribe our original sound as horn heavy funk, but we mix in reggae, go-go and soul for good measure. The band plays throughout MD, VA, DC, DE, and WVA.

Their debut CD "Superheavy " was self-funded and has radio play and sales in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and the U.S.

8 ohms have played with many national acts such as Chuck Brown, Nikka Costa, Big & Rich, Orgone, G. Love and Special Sauce, and KIX. We have also shared the stage with numerous local bands including Sweet Leda, Higher Hands, Chopteeth, Jah Works, All Mighty Senators, Grilled Lincolns, Lucky Dub, 9 Mile Roots, Freedom Enterprise, The Players Band, Shook, The Beast, Elikeh, Pressing Strings, Nayas, The Rovers, Dave Tieff Band, Bumpin' Uglies, Forquarters Collective, Evokatones, and DJ Selah.
